Good evening David,

If I try and play licks from study songs which are slow and then try and place them in the music from study songs which are faster in tempo, they dont seem to feel right. Is there anything which I can do to make them fit or feel right. The reason I ask this question is because I really like the faster paced music i.e music from the split more than the slower music but want to use as many licks as I can from all the study songs. Hope this makes sense.

Kind Regards,

Paul

Evening Paul. There's more

Evening Paul. There's more time in a slow blues to fit in notes. For this reason, many slow blues licks can feel rushed or overly-busy when sped up. All I can recommend for you to do is give each lick a try and don't force a lick to fit that just doesn't seem to want to fit. A tool you can use is to speed up the track you're taking licks from (using a program like the Amazing Slow Downer). If the licks in that track sound okay at that faster tempo, then most likely you're ready to try those licks.
