First step

Hi everybody,

David encouraged me to share this little piece of music on the website, based on "Gary's Blues". It's the third homework assignment for the improvisation lesson "chorus forms". After a more or less conventional beginning, in chorus 3 und 4 I used a short and therefore pretty active solo that I've been playing with my band for several months during "Dust my broom" (chorus forms AB/AC and AAB). In order to create a climax before repeating the head at the end, I used the AAA chorus form. Hope you enjoy it.

Best regards

Jens

(dis)Organized Blues

Took David's suggestion to try out an instrument I love the sound of - slide lap resonator. After borrowing one for a month, I took the plunge and bought a used vintage Dobro in December and have had a ball - thanks David for the theory lessons that really let me feel comfortable on the fret board. Found this backing track on the HarmonicaBoogie site - in G (open G tuning on the Dobro), slow (to let me keep up) and short. My first guitar backing track with a separate harp track. Had so much fun, I just wanted to share - nothing fancy but just fun stuff!

Stormy Monday

Me noodling around with Stormy Monday. Part of the chord progression was tricky at first but David susses it out pretty clearly in Music Theory 6.

It's far from perfect but at least I won't freak out next time it gets called at a jam session.
