3rd position DEMO study

Posted Tue, 12/24/2024 - 02:01 by Laszlo Konyeczki
Laszlo Konyeczki's picture

Best Wishes to Our Community and Beyond!

Introduction: David showed me a site study that helped me learn the 3rd position pentatonic minor scale.

Practice Duration: I have been studying the scale for three weeks and experimenting with licks, movement, phrasing, technique, and bends.

Sound Characteristics: The focus has been on short notes and a lot of staccato, so the sound is a bit dry.

Future Plans Next time: I will apply more delay and reverb and incorporate longer notes and vibrato.

Dirty bluesy minor

Hello All,

David adviced me to play using more effects, octaves, double draws, flutter, bending in bluesy minor mode.

After some pratice and repeating lessons in website I performed the earlier steril mode in a more dirty version. I changed to my customized Bugera amp with Ted Weber Signature loudspeaker and Lone Wolf pedal from the solid Laney amp.

Hey Ya'll!

Here's another recording of me and my friend Jim Bonney playing the classic dixieland tune "Indiana." I was watching the Gary Primich interview videos and he talked about this tune with David. I love the Blues but I'm always up for working in more and more non twelve bar songs into my setlist. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks!

Hey Guys and Gals,

Here's a recording of me and my buddy preparing for a recent gig. Walter's Boogie by the one and only Big Walter Horton. The Four chord lick in this tune is one that has taken me many years to master. Check it out on youtube if you'd like! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04CrrtO45dI

Thanks!

Sad Hours - Acoustic harp

My cover of the Little Walter's slow blues harp standard. Or as my young daughter called it today, "a very dramatic song" :).

I play a Bb Lee Oskar harp, and recorded this acoustic cover with my phone while practicing it, so you can clearly hear me gasping for air at times. Later I mixed it with the backing track in Bandlab. This is made in two cuts, luckily I only had to splice 4 bars where I made a little mistake at the end of the main take. I like how it turned out, but I'm obviously still working on it =). continue reading...

This one is literally a tongue-twister:). Appreciate your feedback. Perhaps the most challenging song technically I've worked so far. This is my best shot at it.. Here is the video version:
