I don't think it will sound like too much distortion with the band behind it.
Professor Barrett recommends using the backing track for "My Blues" for this. You might want to change its tempo a little, but it works well. I'm working on it, but after hearing yours, I'll have to work on it a lot more before I'll feel like I can post it. Great tune. Good job!

I'm glad you like it , "My Blues" is perfect for that! but I've lost the feel playing with it so I preferred playing it without ;)
