Another great effort here! I agree with Super Dave about adding a bit of delay or a bit more 'verb to wet the sound. Otherwise though, for me, it's a very credible cut and 2 great solos! As for the lyrics, I'm with you on going with your preference as it's your version after all. Keep 'em coming!

Cheers Rob. Been working on

Cheers Rob. Been working on the D+V as SuperDave and you have suggested and hoping for a big change on upgrading from the Super Champ shortly. Reflecting on the lyrics structure I guess the best is to be familiar with all the versions so then it can be varied with each occassion, I guess with repeat performances this will keep it alive for both performer and audience.

Hey Dave, thanks for the

Hey Dave, thanks for the feedback.

On listening to it now wearing a audience hat I see your points...... one can get caught in focusing too hard on the song and harp. The reverb was on and I did sing through the harp mike. I'm using a Super Champ XD, Harp Attack and Hohner Astatic.

When I started this study I listened to several versions and noticed that they had slightly different lyrics, so just took the one that appealed to me..... on telling a full story I guess with a band the chorus sequence might go ..1-intro/2&3 vocals/4&5 guitar solo/6&7 vocals/8&9 harp solo/10 vocals/close.

I'm pushing through some LOA work at the mo but will definitely repost.

Thanks again for making the time to comment.... cheers Julian

Your singing is fine. Great harp stuff, dude.

I like your harp work and vocals.  Nice sound.  It may too loud for this track, though.  It just needs to be blended better.

I know it was a track you played to but please try to use the reverb, volume and/or delay that makes you sound like you are in the room with the other musicians.

You vocals and harp sound a little muffled too.  Did you sing through the harp mic?

The one thing about doing a very popular song like this is that most people know the lyrics.  It is also very obvious when you change the order or add your own words.  Try to stay close to the lyrics and lyric order so you can tell the song's story properly.

I am not saying you shouldn't have fun with the song but a real band uses the lyrics to know when certain things are happening.  Also, people that know the song will be singing with you.

Hoprfully, you will repost this.

Super Dave
