Blue Midnight

This is my version of Blue Midnight by Little Walter. Little Walter's songs are the focus of my study this year. I think every blues harmonica player should study the songs of this master.
I have added a chorus of my own. The rest is played as close as I can to the original recording.
Let me know what you think.

Here's some improvisation in the key of Bb.
I practice alot on jam tracks and I stil find it hard to be creative and come up with new idea's.
I think this recording went pretty good!

Comments are welcome!

Thank you jodanbhudan I was inspired by your version with hayasim777 that's really cool...I'm trying some licks myself.
I have to play this song with my band and there i'll have more space to make a one or two courses solo, here i think i'm fighting a little bit with Eric Clapton.
All the Best!

New Rhumba

This is largely based on steve Guyger's 'Blue Mambo' off Past Life Blues. In retrospect I think I overused the 4 draw and runs down from the 4 draw, but I haven't got the lick vocabulary to vary things too much when improvising yet.

The jam track is off Jimi Lee's Groovetrax.

G Chromosome

G Chromosome - Blues in G

I used one of David Barret's backing tracks (12 Bar Jam in Key of G Major, Swing with Break on IV, (2:59)). Played the song on a Hohner 64 Chromonica in C which is a chromatic harmonica with 16 holes.

The most popular way to use a chromatic harmonica in blues is by playing it in D (3rd). Little Walter and George Smith made some great recordings playing the chromatic in D. Off course they both played it in other keys (C,Eb,....), especially George Smith was a master on the chromatic influencing many players. continue reading...
