Hi Kinya,

I had to flat sand a Crossover comb. I guessing that it should be seald again. I read a post and you stated 3-4 coats of Varathane while discussing a wood comb. Do you feel the Bamboo comb should recieve the same 3-4 coats and do you give a sanding after in case it has built up uneven?

Also, do you apply it using a brush or spray on?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Hi Mark, good to hear from

Hi Mark, good to hear from you.

Q: Do you feel the Bamboo comb should recieve the same 3-4 coats

A: Yes. But only on the vertical surfaces. In other words, everywhere except for the top/bottom horizontal mating surfaces (reed plate coupling). This will allow the intended porous quality of the bamboo/wood to swell slightly--contributing to the traditional Marine Band experience.

Q: and do you give a sanding after in case it has built up uneven?

A: Yes

Q: Also, do you apply it using a brush or spray on?

A: I'm a spray dude, through and through (looks factory to me ;o)

Your Harpsmith, Kinya
