Hi Kinya,

I have five Hohner Rockets and all of them have only five inner screws (the ones holding the reed plates, not the cover plates), although there are 7 holes in the reed plates. Do you know, which holes should the screws be in?

Thank you very much,

Marek

Hi Marek, a good question.

Hi Marek, a good question. Initially the Rockets had all (8) eight reed plate machine screws torqued into place.

Early this morning, I removed the cover plates from my new Rocket Amp and discovered that Hohner has decided to not include the two rear/corner machine screws

Years ago I spent an afternoon with Gunter Beyer in Trossingen, Germany. Gunter was a Master Craftsman who worked at Hohner in the production area for over 39 years. I asked Gunter the reason Hohner did not install machine screws into the two rear/corners of the Special 20 reed plate. His response was that functionally it served no purpose, and as a result, allowed Hohner to shave off a couple of der Groschen. Note: The Rocket/AMP models had not rolled out at that time, but the reed plates are very close.

 Your Harpsmith, Kinya

This is an excellent answer,

This is an excellent answer, Kinya. Thank you very much!

And sorry for writing the numbers wrong -- you are correct, it's 8 and 6, not 7 and 5.

Marek
