Hello Kinya!

I’ve been working hard on “blues for Paul delay” and I have been using my rocket low f harp. I know you love the rockets but I cannot seem to get used to the rocket comb with the oversized holes. So, using an old special 20 comb I had laying around I did a little drilling and voila! a rocket special 20 low f harp. As I was putting everything back to together I overnighted one of the reed plate screws and stripped it (I know I’m very strong) I’m sure that you’ve come across this issue before. I’m thinking maybe a longer screw with a nut to fix this issue? It currently plays fine with no leaks but I know that this will bug me in the back of my mind. I’d appreciate your thoughts on this! thanks!

Reed plate machine screws

Hey PJensen, cool project. The solution is easy-peezy (relative term-right?)

Hohner uses a metric machine screw: M1.6 x 10.87mm. These can be replaced with 1-72 x 7/16" ~ 1/2" Machine Screws and Nuts:

Available from MicroMark.com

1-72 NUTS https://www.micromark.com/25-Nuts-00-90?quantity=1&screwsize=3

1-72 MACHINE SCREWS https://www.micromark.com/Round-Screws-Package-of-25?quantity=1&Screwbla...

These are not "self tapping screws", so you may have to run a #48 (.073) Drill Bit to clear the way for your 1-72 Machine Screw.

Let me know.

Your HARPSMITH, Kinya
