Hi David,

I'm trying to learn the harmonica part for a song by Roger Daltry and Wilko Johnson called Going Back Home (Its on youtube but I'm not sure how to attach the song to the forum so you could maybe have a listen). The first guitar chord played is Eb, (I found this by going on Chordfy) so if this is a minor key and if I'm right, the major key would be Gb. However, I do not have either harmonica key. So if I added this song to the AMS and changed the major key to an A harp, would I use my D Harp. Hope this makes sense. If you do have time to listen to the song, the harp starts at about 1 min 38, would you mind giving me some tips.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this, many thanks,

Paul

Good morning Paul. You wrote

Good morning Paul. You wrote "Eb" which is a major triad (Eb G Bb)... this means the song is in Eb major if this is your I (one) chord. Am I correct about this, or did you mean to write ebm, Ebm or Eb- (all meaning Eb minor) or did you possibly assume the "b" means minor, and you meant to write e, Em or E- (which all mean E minor). Let me know, the next part of your question is dependent on this.

Sorry for the confusion. This is not a 12 bar blues. The very first chord of this song is E flat major. Hope this helps.

Thank you,

Paul

For the key of Eb you would

For the key of Eb you would commonly use an Ab harp in 2nd or Eb harp in 1st. Db harp in 3rd can also be an option if you're familiar with 3rd position playing.

Hi Paul, David, by my

Hi Paul, David,

by my reckoning, this song is in the key of A (major) without any adjustment, and a D harp fits.

Cheers

Anthony
