Hi Skip,

I have a blues jnr which I bought about 15years ago. I had a local guy modify it for harp use, he even installed a line out socket.

I know that this isn't the best choice of amp for blues harp,  but I had it and can't run to a new amp yet.

It currently has the standard fender 'eminence ' 12" speaker that it came with. My question is,  I am looking at buying a Jensen p10r speaker to replace the original,  is this a good choice or should I go 12"?

Thanks

Saul

Speakers for Blues Junior

Hello Saul-  I would not change the actual size of the speaker, but changing to a lighter Alnico speaker will make the amp break up sooner than a high-power ceramic speaker. Actually, you could consider not changing the speaker at all if you are getting a good tone. Also, I hope that your local tech disconnected the "bright cap" that is stock in those amps. The cap makes the amp extra-bright at low volumes which is no help to harp dogs.
