I have a Hohner Chromonica 64 which I took apart for cleaning. The clear little bushing/fasteners that sit in the comb which hold the screws for the mouth plate are mangled and won't hold it tight. Where can I get some replacements? Do I need to contact Hohner or is it something I might find at a local hardware store?

Chromatic harmonica bumpers

Sorry I didn't see this earlier.

I *think* you mean the little bits of clear plastic tubing that players usually call bumpers. Their only real function is to protect the threads of the mouthpiece screws from being damaged by impact from the slide. They do not perfor a fastening function, and the instrument can be assembled and work without them.

To replace missing or damaged bumpers, you can get plastic tubing that will work at the local hardware, hobby, or tropical fish store, or, in a pinch, you can cut the end off a plastic ballpoint pen refill.
