Hi Kinya,
I am about to step up in my harp tech-ing life.
I have a question. In the interest of saving some bucko's do I need both of these tools from Micro-Mark:
#83146 - and #82878? As I start reed removing my sense is I only need one of the 2 pieces to get a decent start.
So which of the 2 would you recommend?

Hi Anthony
The 82878 is a bargain and a great tool.

Hold on!

It appears that the 82878, despite the somewhat misleading picture, is ONLY the drill/tap holder for the "Press-It" tool. It looks like you have to fork over another $58.75 (on sale) for the "Press-It," which the 82878 fits into.

So, the total is $80.00. The 83146 appears to be the complete tapping/drilling fixture, for 58.75.

Is it worth the extra 21.25 for the Press-It and the Tap holder (82878)?

Or am I reading it wrong?

Yeah ... you are correct. I

Yeah ... you are correct. I had forgotten that I had originally used this tool as a press. So let's do a course correction. MicroMark has discounted the #83146 Tapping Fixture from $65.95 to $57.50 (a 13% reduction). Go with that one.

This is my problem the picture miled me so I still need to get the press, however it seems that the press could be used to punch out the old reeds. What do you think?
