Vht special 6. If looking for vintatweed fenders

Howzit Steve, I hope I'm not stepping on any toes , and I'm no expert , but I think for the best bang for the buck for what you are describing would be the VHT special 6 . Has great tone and has 10" speaker plus 4,8,16 ohm Speaker outs so you can always try different speakers out.  you can get them for under $200 used on eBay last time I looked. if you go for vintage amp they average about $300-500 for a silvertone, the good gibsons usually start at $500 and thats usually a GA-5 , a 5w amp.

Thank you for your

Thank you for your input.

The other amp I had considered was a Memphis Mini.

OK dumb question.... should an amp. have two 'line in 's ?

, so you could play your harp through it and play a backing track through it ?

(each line in having its own controls ? or just use a line splitter and run the harp and jam tracks

though one line in ? )

..If so does the VHT special 6 do this ?

OR when playing with a backing track...is it better to have the jam track playing though

another amp/speaker ?

   Thank you for your time

The VHT has 2 inputs but if

The VHT has 2 inputs but if you run a BT and play through amp you won't have separate volume control , I think you would need a 2 channel amp if you want separate volume control.  probably the best thing to do is get a small pa with a built in speaker to run BT through then you can play amp , the amp will sound better with just a you going through it.  The MM and the VHT are both 5w single ended amps.

I bought a brand new Fender Blues-Junior III

I would really appreciate any help and Guidance.

What steps should I take to make this Amp sound great for Harp.

It has A 12AX7 preamp tube overdrive and EL-84 output Tubes inside

It is has a footswitchable fat boost capability

It has a Super sensitive Fender Special Design 12" lightning bolt speaker by "Eminence"

Blues Junior III

Hello J-   Thanks for writing.  The only thing I would consider would be swapping out that 12AX7 for a lower-gain substitute. I say practice, practice, practice instead of messing with the amp! Check out the other amp posts here at BH.com There are a great many beginers here with the same questions about amps and tube swapping.

Harp amp for small to medium gigs.

Hey Skip hope you're well.

Could you kindly suggest a few (if poss) new harp amps please. I'm currently studying L.O.A. 5 and looking to do some giging, size of venue would most likely be from approx 10 to 200 person, so I'm talking from about a pub to a small/medium sized hall.

My practice room at home is approx 25 feet x 12 feet so I would like to use the amp there too if poss.

I'm not super hung up by trying to match the exact sound of an old tube amp from the 50's or 60's, in fact I'm after a modern brand new amp that I can hopefully practice with now and one that will see me through to performing at the venues stated above.

I'm not sure if amps suitable for harps would have more than one input? if they do then I would rather spend a bit more now and have the option, I don't want to buy a "beginers" amp and be limited 5 minutes down the road.

I'm in the U.K but happy to buy direct from the U.S. if needed.

Cheers Skip hope you can help.
