David - I purchased a 15 watt Monoprice Stage Right amp with the same tube configuration as the Fender Blues Jr. I am new to tube amps and wanted to make a tube change out from one of the AX-7 tubes to an AY-7 tube (same as you did in Blues Jr. review). My assumption is the amp I bought is modeled after the Blue's Jr or a knock-off of it.

My question is in the video, you show and explain to change out the tube closest to the power tubes, but in the pdf summary file for the Blues Jr, it shows the tube "farthest away" from the power tubes was changed. Please advise as to which one I should swap on the amp? Thanks

Hello Rog. You have one 12AX7 tube in that amp... change that tube.

David - I have the monoprice

David - I have the monoprice 15 watt amp that has three ECC83 / 12AX7 preamp tubes, not the 5 watt monoprice that you reviewed having only one 12AX7. So, please let me know which one to switch out, assuming that my amp is a clone of the blues jr as I've read on other gear sites. Thanks again.

Hello Rog. Sorry about

Hello Rog. Sorry about that... that amp has ECC83s (3) and a 12AX7 (1)... the ECC83s threw my brain off (they're the same as 12AX7's, just a British naming). Change the tube farthest away from the power tubes (closest to the cabinet). You can try either... see what you like better... but usually it's the tube closest to the cabinet that is changed in amps (it's the first tube in the chain).
