David

I've been practicing 30 minutes to a hour every day since I started two weeks ago, I'm having real problem drawing on the harmonica constantly.  I can play fine for a short time then all of a sudden I get nothing on my draws not even a squeak.

I've watched the introduction to breathing over and over, searched YouTube for tips, looked at a bunch of books, lay in bed at night practicing breathing from my diaphragm.

I'm probably just over thinking it, but it's really frustrating. I want to get better

Once it clicks on my head I know I'll be fine but I just can't get it.

Any other ideas that might help?

Thanks

Bob

Hello Bob. First off, draw

Hello Bob.

First off, draw notes are more challenging to play than blow notes, so you're note alone in this challenge.

When you say the draw notes just stop playing, is it all of a sudden... like maybe you have spit clogging the harmonica? If yes, then have you tried to tap your harp hard on your leg? If this is the issue, then smacking the harp will fix the issue right away.

If this is not the issue, then it 100% has to do with your tongue location (in almost all cases your tongue is humped up in the middle/back). Go to https://www.bluesharmonica.com/faq and watch the lesson titled "My 2 draw and/or high-end notes sounds flat, airy or not at all!"

Okay Bob, sounds like a plan.

Okay Bob, sounds like a plan. My assumption was the tongue as well. You've get it... give it practice and time.
