Hi David,
I can't seem to get the second hole to draw and the first hole is dull when it sounds. I know your lesson mentioned the tongue is the probable culprit but I can't seem to get the darn thing to behave. Any further advice?
Cheers

Answer

Very common issue. Check out the video titled "My 2 draw and/or high-end notes sounds flat, airy or not at all!" in the FAQ section (link above) for this.

Turns out draw one is a nose

Turns out draw one is a nose issue. If I plug my nose it usually sounds just fine. I'm using a C harmonica so I used masking tape to briefly cover the holes to learn what the single notes should sound like. Draw 2 is definitely a problem no matter how much I try the yawn position. Your vid said it could take months to get right? It's gonna drive me crazy til I get it right. I better get started then.
Thanks

This is a normal part of the learning process... don't obsess over it... just dig in and play. Your first study song ("Walk with Me" in Tongue Blocking Study 1) does not use any 2 draws (3+ replaces is). Best wishes on your studies.
