I have a question! I can play octaves just fine when playing acoustic, but when I cup a mic and play an octave it sounds out of tune? I've tried playing softer, but it still sounds out of tune? Have you ever had this happen or is it just me?

Thanks,
-Ryan

Answer

Most likely you're playing to hard... you're bending one of the reeds down. You could also be squeezing your cup too tightly, causing one side of your lip to close off the hole and bend it as well.
