Started to go through the Groove videos tonight-thanks so much Dave these are very helpful! I'm about halfway through & have learnt so much. This is the sort of information we really need to get us ready to play with other people-I was so overjoyed when I went to a jam the other week & the band knew what a 'flat tyre'was although I think some of the terminology is a little different maybe here in Australia. Also thankyou so much for the transcription of Easy-I love that song & had been teaching myself it by ear from my Ipod so it will be so great to get the proper version & check if I have it right. David have you every thought on doing a section on theory in here-I know some may not be interested but as someone who learnt by ear before this website & have got so much out of learning to read music but still getting very lost when you start to talk about theory particularly with the other musicians-every bit helps!
Thanks again!!

Glad you like the material... it all adds to the big picture of knowledge needed to play with others. That's great they knew what a flat tire was... yes, what players call these grooves can vary from region to region.

Yes, I am going to do theory. The BIG sections to come are theory, accompaniment playing and improvising... they will take time.

A side note... do me a favor and ask these questions in "Ask Instructor David Barrett," I don't always see these general posts.
