Has anyone tried or currently using any of the Lone Wolf Harp effects pedals other than the Delay? I'm using LW Delay now and am happy with it, but have been thinking about maybe trying one more pedal, the LW Octave, Tone +, Break or Attack pedals. Speakers I'm currently using are a Premier 110 (12-watt) and a Harpgear 2 and Kalamazoo 2. I don't gig yet and don't forsee needing to run sound through a PA in the near future.

I've listened to all the sound samples on the Lone Wolf web site and watched everything I could find on these pedals on You Tube, but the pedals seem to alwats be being used through a Fender Bassman, a PA or through a computer or switch board. Can't find much on demos with amps like I have.

Lone Wolf Tone + and Harp Break

Hello Reverblow,

The Tone + is ok. It fatten ups the tone on my Crate 33 and reduces feedback but sucks out the volume, so you will not be able to be heard over a loud band,

The Harp Break is more useful. Fattens up the sound and adds some distortion but not enough for me. You will get more volume but not enough to be heard over a loud band.

I will be selling these pedals because the band I play with is extremely loud. The Crate has the lowest gain tubes.

Hope you find this useful

Regards
Hank

Thanks for response. That's the first I've heard of the LW Tone + sucking volume. Hmm. What wattage does your Crate put out, 30-40? I've read that thr LW Break and Attack pedals work really well through a PA. Let me know when you put your pedals on the market. May be interested.

Right now I'm only using my small and medium amps. I don't play with a band yet, just small friendly jam sessions where high volume isn't necessary.

I'm leaning toward the LW Octave pedal for sure for the added tone options and mainly for the nice feedback reduction it supposedly provides. I'm tired of running into feedback issues with volume more than halfway on all my amps.

LW Pedals

Hello,

The amp is 30 watts. I was hoping to get the volume from it to compete with the band, but no dice. Feedback city!

I have a stock Kalamazoo Reverb 12 that works great full blast. No feedback at all. Don't need any pedals for tone or reverb. Just an awsome amp and I wish it was louder.

Next chance I get I will try to run the Tone+ and/or Harp Break and a delay pedal directly into the PA.

Regards
Hank

@Harmonica Hank

Do you still have and plan to sell your Lone Wolf Tone+ and Harp Break pedals? I know it has been awhile since you mentioned it. Just a shot in the dark.

LW Octave

hey i know its an old question and you are looking to buy maybe more than in need of a review, but FWIW:

i use a LW Delay and Octave with my 30w 1x12. i put the octave closer to the amp input, plug my mic into the delay...

what i can tell you about the octave is that it probably does reduce feedback a little. its an incremental kind of thing though...it helps but its not a magic spell or anything.

tone...its kind of an octave up...so it definitely fattens the sound up and it cuts through better, has more bite....er...more prescence? but its not the sound for everything...i like it with the rock band where i crank it out a bit and its a dirty, attention-grabbing sound...but it can be a bit too much, especially if you are looking for a mellow kind of sound...of course the "blend" knob allows you to dial in how much of the effect you put into your sound

i like that pedal, i have been using it for over a year, still like it and still learning how to use it to best effect etc but thats an old story

Do you still have and plan to sell your Lone Wolf Harp Octave?

Hello, Dan.

I know this post is ancient, but do you still have and plan to sell your Lone Wolf Harp Octave?

Thank you,
