I'm trying to learn harp customization.  From what I can gather, there are five basic steps:

a. Tune the reeds

b. Gap the reeds

c.  Profile the reeds

d.  Emboss the slots

e.  Scoop the tips

What order should they be done in?

Hello Philosofy, I recommend

Hello Philosofy, I recommend the following sequence:

  1. Emboss (size) reed plate slots (scooping the tips is only required if you wish to brighten your sound)
  2. Proper profiling of the reed will gap it as well
  3. Tuning

Your Harpsmith, Kinya
