'Nuther Book Review
Found through our public library system Jerry Portnoy's new (2025) book, Dancing With Muddy: Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, and My Lucky Life In and Out of the Blues.
An amazing read that I literally could not put down. Some things I knew, but a lot of stuff I didn't. E.g., a little "six degrees of separation" thing: Jerry is six years older than me, so we didn't cross paths, but during the 1963/64 school year our family lived in Chicago. Turns out that a few years earlier Jerry had gone to the same high school as I did that year, and had lived on the same street, just blocks away.
I've been going back through David's 2020 Interview with Jerry once more, and Jerry talks about working on the book, and hoping that some day it actually gets published. Well, it has. And it's fabulous.
