All caveats about "use what works for you" aside: Should a student strive to lean less on Tab in favor of notation as they progress? The only ambiguity I see using notation alone is 2 vs 3+.

BTW I'm not sure if it is your convention or if it came before, but notating all harps as if they were in C is a brilliant solution to a complex problem.

Hello LessPaul. Yes, "use

Hello LessPaul.

Yes, "use what works for you" is what practically happens. Since everything is in C Score (yes, my idea, thanks), it doesn't take much time to ready music. If you have the time, and like the idea, there are many benefits to learning how to read. If you go this rout, whiteout all the TAB so that you're forced to read.

With that said, most will not take the time to do this and use the TAB. I do recommend not using the TAB much... reference it quickly as you're learning and basically memorize what you're playing as you go (looking back at the TAB if you need a reminder). For the rhythm, use the recording.
