The other day wail I was in Tennessee I found a non MS series Blues harp for $10.00. and I noticed that it looked likes small flat head screws. And the more I looked at it, it looked like small nails. So I was wanting to know what the best way to take off the cover plate, and reed plate? Because I want to clean up the harmonica. There a small amount of rust on the cover plate. And there know telling what it look like on the inside. Other than that the harmonica is playable. It just needs to be cleaned up.  Have a Merry Christmas

Hello JFPaschal, Grab a

Hello JFPaschal,

Grab a quarter from your spare change jar;

  1. While pinching the coin--insert half of it into the back opening of the cover plate. Do NOT deposit the coin into the harmonica. This is not a vending machine. No Snicker bars in there.
  2. Twist the coin
  3. This will lift the cover plate tabs up and pull out the nails!

You can also use a large washer, or butter knife.

Your Harpsmith, Kinya
