If you don't have any Johnny Sansone mp3's in your music collection you're no blues man.

Great playing, and monster

Great playing, and monster tone indeed. The whole band is burning, haha.

Monster indeed!

SOTB:

There must be something in the water in New Orleans (Johnny Sansone's base.) NOLA players of all genres just seem to have a little extra "grit" in their playing.

Not a surprise that another Johnny, Johnny Mastro, got grittier when he moved to NOLA from LA a few years ago. While he's more on the rock side rather than traditional blues, he's also a tone monster. E.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGWPv3o1wT0

Also, SOTB, you're not by any chance from over in the UK are you? When you credited Samantha Fish in your post as "Samantha Fox," I figured maybe you were a fan of Fox, the pop singer who grew up in Mile End over in London. But really glad you linked that video of Fish, from the Big Blues Bender in Las Vegas nine years ago. I got to meet her a few years before that when she was still relatively unknown and came through our Torch Club here in Sacramento. I loved her collection of three- and four-string cigar box and oil can guitars. It was obvious back then that she was really going to go places.

Figure we both share a dream that maybe some day you and I could each sit in on harp with Fish!

Johnny Mastro has a Tough Raw Sound.

I'll be adding some of his mp3's to my "Swamp Harp Playlist".

Medly of 'Baby Please Don't Go' and 'Help Me'. Great guitar, harp and vocals.
