Hello Eli Thank you for your

Hello Eli
Thank you for your questions.

Ultrasonic cleaners do a good job of removing debris. The metal tarnishing you find on reed plates and reeds is more of a cosmetic issue--it looks terrible, but will not impact the playability of your harmonica. Polishing reeds is a very tricky proposition, because polish removes metal and will de-tune your reeds. Unless you plan on spending hours re-tuning your harmonicas, I strongly advise you NOT to polish the reeds.

As for the Seydel tool kit, I believe everything except the reed wrench will work on your Hohner harmonicas.
Your Harpsmith,
Kinya

Seydel Tool

I use Richard Sleigh's reed wrench for adjusting reeds and it fits the Seydel reeds perfectly. Therefore the Seydel tool should fit Hohner reeds.

Seydel reed wrench will work with Hohner reeds

Part of my swag from the 2012 SPAH convention was the Seydel kit that includes their version of the Sjoeberg tool.

The reed wrench does fit Hohner reeds, but not snugly - it's a little loose.

Comparing the Seydel tool with a handmade Sjoeberg, I have to say that I like Dick's tool better, but hats off to Seydel for coming up with a kow-cost version. The included software tutorial is very nicely done, thanks to Bertram Becher.
