Hello Mike. Work with tapping

Hello Mike. Work with tapping your foot. Play your first note on beat 1, allow your foot to tap one more time (beat 2) and then play your second note when your foot is up in the air. Work with this slowly... mechanically... and once you feel like you've got it, work slowly with a metronome. It is challenging, but playing on the upbeat is an integral part of our music... very important at your stage of learning to dig into this so that you music can really start to swing.
