I'm trying to learn George Harmonica SMith's "Good Things" and having a heck of a time deciphering the lyrics. I'm getting about 50% of them but wondered if someone on here had them or knows where I might go to get them. They do not seem to be available on line when I tried googling for them Thanks for any hepl you might be able to provide

There are at least two versions

The versions I have heard each use some of the verses below, and in different orders. Here are all of the verses I know:

(You) Been gone so long

Don’t you know you ought to be home.

You been gone so long, Baby

Don’t you know you ought to be home.

Well, you’re gonna miss a lot of good things

Little girl if you stay gone.

(Yes, I remember when you left me,

Lord, it was like it was yesterday, yes it was

I remember, Baby, every little word that you said, yes I do

You said I caused your heart to break.

Come on back and see I’m true.)

*

Send me a letter, Baby,

I’ll meet the train before the break of day.

Send me a letter, Baby,

I’ll meet the train before the break of day.

When that Choo-choo blows,

I know my baby’s on her way.

(Well, Baby, I’ll meet the train before the break of day.

Well, Baby, I’ll meet the train before the break of day.

When that Choo-choo blows

I know my baby’s on her way.)

*Bought you a brand new dress, Baby,

Lawd, and a new pair of high heel shoes.

Bought you a brand new dress, Baby,

Lawd, and a new pair of high heel shoes.

Well, I do everything I should,

I want my woman looking good.

Hope this helps.

Big Time thanks

Hey Marcos. Thanks for this. I ended up putting the song on Slow Downer and slowly worked my way through copying down the words. This will give me confirmation of whether I heard it right or not. Really appreciate this.

I was surprised that I couldn't find it anywhere on line like almost any other song I was searching for.

Take care
