I'm having trouble with breath control on the lump bassline. I find myself running out of breath by the end, due to the number of draw notes. I know there are so many reasons to use 2 instead of 3+, but would it be okay to substitute 3+ at times, in this case? I'm just doing a bassline in the background, so I think it would be okay to alternate bars between 2 and 3+.

Answer

Yup, 3+ is just fine. As I state in Ryan Walker's lesson, what I wrote for you us based on the bass player's perspective, which is value to know, but uncommon for a harmonica player to play, so don't spend too much time on this.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks for pointing that out. The lessons with Ryan are a great supplement for this part. I think these bass lines are so great and can really help me out.

Where to find lump bass line

Lumpetty Lump just came up last week in a discussion I had with a guitar player. I'm intrigued what it is and sounds like. Where can we reference that material on the web site??

thanks
