Hi Dave. Probably a dumb question...I want to try a low key harp. If I am playing second position A harp- song in E- I assume  a Low A harp will work ? And what advantage is there with a 12 or 14 hole low key harp? Thanks. Luke

Hello Luke. You got it, a Low-A also plays in the key of E for second position. I'm not sure of which model you're speaking of with 12 or 14 holes, but I assume it's the Hohner 364 or 365. I don't recommend these... the extra (high) range is not used (I've not heard a player ever play those upper holes) and the larger body size of those models, most find them to not be comfortable. I recommend you get one with a standard body size, like the Hohner Thunderbird.

P.S., the most common key of low harp is the Low-F (by far) and then the Low-C. The Low-A can be cool, but bending is pretty much non-existent on such a low harp.
