[Aw crap, I just read the post a few below about a USB mic. Well, I'll leave this post anyways, just so that I can my first message posted here]

Basically, I just want to be able to play (acoustically) into a mic that is plugged into my computer. And/or maybe running it through a mixer box or -something-?

I am using Audacity to record, but I am using a POS mic that came with an old webcam. It's terrible at best.

Any ideas?

oh, and I am a new subscribing member here. Been playing for about 8 months after many off and off again playing I did in my rebellious rock and roll teenage years.
Now I am immersing my self into the blues and blues harmonica. Enjoying the hell out of it!

Welcome to the site. USB mics are a great way to go. Check out http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/microphones/usb-microphones for an example.

Hi David! Thanks for the reply and link. I guess I should have looked there myself ;-)

OK, I'll just refer to the USB mic post in this gear section. My apologies for the redundant post. I was just too excited to be here!
