Looking ahead LOA 7 includes Improvising Study 3. LOA 8 includes Improvising Study 7. If I want to work on Improvising Studies 4, 5 and 6 even though my main focus is on LOA when would you suggest they would offer the most value? Thanks!

Hello SmokeJS. Study the lessons in order... after you study Improvising Study 3, do 4, then 5, etc. The advanced study songs take a while to work on. As you're developing your skills to play those study songs you can work on these more jam-based improvising studies (each study focuses on developing your improvising in specific areas, so you'll be doing a lot of Chorus Form work to integrate your favorite licks from these studies).

I'm supplementing my LOA studies with both Joe T and Ryan. Looking at Joe T I found videos for Transitions, Turnarounds and Endings. It makes sense that these videos match up with the Improvising Studies 4, 5 and 6 mentioned above but as the PDF's are not referenced at the top of the Joe T section I'd like to be certain.

It looks as if you're working with the easiest material from the Improvising Studies which are mostly more advanced. So I'm guessing this Joe T material is just an introduction to these studies and I'll get into them more seriously on the timetable you recommend above. If I print off the PDF's from the apprporiate Improvising Study do I need to listen carefully to the Joe T video to ensure I'm working on the correct example or is this listed or identified some place I haven't yet found?

Thanks!

You're correct, I'm working from those lessons and choosing licks that are skill-specific to Joe. I recommend you watch these song writing lessons with Joe for the process more than the specific licks I choose for him.
