Dave, I am trying to finish up, on LOA 4 TEST. Im not quite sure what is required of me for the improvising study 1 section of the test I have picked out my lick that I want to use for all my 5 chorus forms. (Feeling for the blues...2nd chorus fifth measure). Am I suppose to take that lick.... and play it in all the 5 chorus forms? MY QUESTION IS XXX WHERE CAN I GO TO REVIEW MY CHORUS FORMS? XXX FOR THE ACCOMPANIMENT PLAYING. AM I SUPPOSE TO TAKE THE JAM TRACK, I want you with me, and just play the Charleston rhythum, along with chording, and any lick I want when the singer is not singing? I would rather ask you now instead of sending in something that you are not asking for thanks Dan

Answer

That's correct... take your lick and play it in one chorus of AAA, then AAA with fills, then AAB, then AAB with fills and then A B/A C. To review this process watch the Improvising Lesson 1 lesson. Use a 12 Bar Blues jam track.

In regards to accompaniment... yes, you are correct. Here is the text from LOA-L4

"Use the provided jam track (“I Want You With Me” Jam Track) and play a couple of choruses, using the Charleston Rhythm, Chording or anything else you feel is appropriate under the vocals. When Jon’s not singing, play Fills. Play in the style of “I Want You With Me, Version 2,” but don’t copy directly, come up with some ideas of your own. "
