Im making progress on building that lick vocabulary.

A couple questions

1- I believe you mentioned keeping a record of licks by starting pitch.  What is the idea there?

2- The licks I have done so far are I chord focused.  They would need to transposed or modified for IV chord?

Thanks

Gary

Hello Gary. Those are called

Hello Gary.

Those are called Focus Notes, and that concept is taught in Improvising Study 2.

In regards to the IV chord, you can sequence them to the IV chord, or use the other Chorus Form options taught in Improvising Study 1.
