Hi Daivd,

In that assignment is asked to put a lick into the 5 chorus forms,

I suppose they would be AAA, AAA with fills, AAB, AAB with fills, A B/A C.

What about the ABC chorus form ?

Answer

You're correct: AAA, AAA with fills, AAB, AAB with fills, A B/A C. ABC is the anti-Chorus Form... tell me why and you get extra credit!

mmmmm, chorus form is based

mmmmm, chorus form is based on repetition. ABC would mean that you present an idea but you don't repeat it, the listener attention needs some repetition.

You got it... Chorus Forms is the use of repetition. ABC is not bad, but all ABC is.

Ok, I made up a 2 bars lick

Ok, I made up a 2 bars lick for A section. I will repeat it 6 times in the AAA chorus form.

When I get to AAA with fills or AAB with fills chorus form, is correct to play lick A for 2 bars and instead of repeating it, using the 2 following bar for the fills ?
