Hello leonidas4545. Those are scale degrees. They are another way to call the notes of the scale. Instead of C, it's Root (or root of the scale). Instead of D, it's called 2, or 2nd, for second note of the scale. Many musicians use/prefer scale degrees over note names in a key. Lip Purse for Movement Patterns

I have been practicing the Movement Scale (and everything else actually)  using tongue blocking, but it seems like the jaw movement and triplet/sixteenth exercises require it to be done with lip purse. Is that right?
