Hello Kinya.  I compared two different tunings on Marine Band Crossover Harps, Key of A, using iStroboSoft.  One was Modern Marine Band MMB (Compromised) and he other was OMB (Old Marine Band) Just Intonaion).  I recorded various songs on Garage Band from melodic to blusey.  I found it difficult to make a major distinction between the two tunings however I lean toward Compromised (The Rick Epping and Harpsmith recipe) which is the MMB.  I recorded on a MacBook Pro with the internal mics so nothing fancy.  A few things came to light.  I am not as good as I thought I was after listening to my recordings.  Geeze!!! Also when I play at a "fast" tempo I really can't distiguish between the tunings. So one major lesson from this exercise is to RECORD and LISTEN.  A great learning tool as David suggested.   However, I really like the iStroboSoft app. and wiill probably tune my other harps to Compromised tuning.  Thanks for giving me direction.  Mic

Thanx Jim. That was a terrific report.

By the way, I used CMT (Chromatic Tuning) from the selection of Peterson iStroboSoft Harmonica Sweetners. It worked perfectly for my recent HOHNER CX12 to CX10 Frankenstein project

Chromatic tuning

Hello Kinya.  Have you tried the CMT sweetener on the Super Chromatica 270 Delux?  What are the pitfalls dealing with the wind savers and tuning?  Mic

Ship in a Bottle

The Peterson iStroboSoft Harmonica Sweetner CMT worked well. As you saw on my CX10 project, I cheated by removing the Windsavers prior to Tuning ;o)

Although I never attempted to build a "ship in a bottle", images of Modelers doing that remind me of tuning Chromatic Harmonicas with the Windsavers left in place! This process will absolutely test one's patience.

I'm contemplating takin' it to the HARPSMITH Bench and show our members how it is down. Stay tuned James
