David do you know where to buy George Smith's version of Juicy Harmonica? I have your version and Piazza's version (both great); now I want to hear the original.

It's track 24.

It's on a compilation CD (a cool one)

Answer

The track is closer to a B Harmonica than a B-flat. With the Amazing Slowdowner (or equivalent software) you can adjust it downward in pitch to match the proper B-flat harmonica. This happens in the mastering process sometimes unfortunately. This is done to speed up a tune to make it a little more lively, and thus changes the key... or it's because the recording motor speed and the mastering deck motor speed were not the same.
