Hi David,My question was regarding the IV chord in several of the Level of Achievement 2 compositions...Temperature, Accompaniment Study. The I, IV, V chords are 3+, 4+, 4 or 3+, 1+, 1 and yet there are instances of the IV chord as +2 (Temperature & Accomp.#2) and 5+ (Accomp.#2)

The chords work but they don't fit the I,IV, V typical note patterns. Can you clarify?

thanks,

Howard

Answer

Hello Howard. Referencing a C Harmonica in 2nd Position (Key of G), the I7 Chord is G B D F, so any of those notes would be good choices.. other notes can work, but these are the strongest choice. The IV7 Chord is C E G B-flat and the V7 Chord is D F# A C. As you work through your Music Theory lessons you'll find an extremely detailed lesson on this subject in the Music Theory Study 4 - Melodic Development, Part 1.
