Ipad garageband recording

Dear teacher
For my recording with garageband, I put a (mic/headphone) splitter to my ipad. The external mic is a little Lavalier condenser mic. what is the best distance from my amplifier speaker I need to place the mic ?

Hello Mr Bourgeois. They key thing with a mic is to experiment. Try 1" away from the center (middle of the speaker, where the dust cap is), 1" away and 1" inside from the rim (just inside the outer ring), 2' away and just somewhere in the middle of the room (preferably a bathroom or somewhere with reflective surfaces for a nice live sound).
