Hi David,

First, I would like to thank you for the quality and quantity of learning material on bluesharmonica.com. Clear instructions and learning path, excellent videos, I really have the impression of having a real and dedicated instructor to help me. An a tech team behind ! This is amazing, and I have been making progress since I started in the end of December. I came here after finding a free month in my Hohner harmonica, but I am here to stay !

I am now finishing level 2 lessons. I have been practicing bending each day to while commuting, alone in my car. That makes everyone happy and is easy because I need no printed material and can focus on the road. I can bend easily holes 1, 2, 4, 6 while tongue blocking, with clear sound and rich tone. However, I have problems with hole 3.

This is a common question here on the forum but I woud like to add , I do not remember how I discovered that, that as soon as I pinch my nose I can bend all three steps of hole 3, with dead on precision and smooth tone, wheras I am struggling with airy sounds without it. I understand bending is all about mouth cavities volumes, but I am sure you will have more insight on how to help me with that additionnal information.

Thanks,Damien

Hello Damien. I'm glad to

Hello Damien. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your lessons and progressing along well. You're exactly right, bending is ALL about "mouth cavities volumes." It sounds like you have a small leak through your nasal cavity. I have video on how to work on this. Go to https://www.bluesharmonica.com/faq and watch the video titled, "I run out of breath so easily!" Let us know how you progress.

Hi David, Thank you for your

Hi David,

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately I have been hit hard by the flu, and am not able to play harp a lot these days. But that certainly give me the opportunity to have my nose completely sealed !

Best,

Damien
