Hi David,

As you have stated, I am learning all the licks that I like from the study songs and putting them into chorus form. The problem that I'm now having is that when I place the licks that I like into an instrumental (I am using the track from the split at the moment) the instrumental doesn't flow musically as do your songs (Although I do recognise the fact that you have been doing it for many years and I haven't).

Am I missing something from the tutorials.

Improvisation is something that I want to excel at be it blues, rock etc....

Thank you for your help.

Paul

No, you're going down the right road. Part of taking licks and applying them to the Chorus Form process is to make subtle changes to make them fit, and this comes with experimentation and time.

Thanks David, as much as I really enjoy this process it is quite frustrating at the moment. However, I want to excel so on we go.

Regards,

You'll get there Paul. Keep working hard, but be patient. To improvise, in any discipline, requires a level mastery, and that takes time.
