These thoughts are for all you people just starting out with amplified harp......

Acquiring more gear can be very tempting, but if you have a decent mic (preferably with a volume control) and a small tube amp, you really have everything you need to not only get started, but to get better. Instead of spending a bunch of time hunting down a vintage element or modifying your amp, spend that time playing, and most importantly, playing with other people. Learn to use the amp and mic you have, and learn how technique affects tone, rather than searching for the "perfect" amp and mic. Good players can sound good with an off-the-shelf mic and a very inexpensive new amp...... with dedication and practice, so can you!
