Hi David,

I just wanted to make sure I'm heading down the right path. I have been practicing the chorus forms like you said, taking a lick and placing it into the chorus forms. I do about 1 lick per week practicing every other day. I only transpose one lick once per chorus form, and practice this all week and then move on. I might mess around with the chorus if its not sounding right but really I'm justing using that lick in each chorus form and practicing those choruses. Sometimes, like for shorter licks, I dont even cut it up and just use it whole and work around that lick with fills and what not.

I dont know, should I come back to these licks, should I just keep pushing forward, Is this enough practice for that one lick, maybe I should be doing more licks per week… I dont know. This is my first instrument ever so the art of improvising is taking me some time to learn. Thank you.
