Hi David!

in the study song "How long blues" (accompaniment study 9), the V chord after the II chord has the major seventh?

I think this because when I play the flat seventh it seems to sound very dissonant....

thanks

Answer

Thinking relative to the C Harmonica in 2nd Position G…

The C (flat-7th) of the V7 sounds okay to me. I like to play the octave 1+/4+ there. Keep in mind that the flat-7th is dissonant, so this may be affecting your perception of whether that note matches or not.
