Hi, Im working on "Walk With Me" chorus two and I leak alot of air when playing holes 2 and 3 (mostly hole 2). Is there any tips you can give us on how to tighten the seal around those holes? Where should my tongue be and should I keep my mouth four holes wide or make it smaller? Any extra tips would be great. In the meantime I'll keep playing with it. Thanks.

Answer

Hello Kevin. Yes, to play hole 2 your mouth will need to be smaller. Your lips will wrap around the corner of the harmonica a little bit, this is normal. You should feel your tongue on the wood of the comb, not much of hole 1. Though your tongue is covering hole 1, it's more of the right corner of the top-right part of your tongue… your tactile reference will mostly be the wood. Lastly, the lighter your touch, the softer your lips will be and the more easily they will squish into the cracks and crevices. Best wishes on this.
