Hey guys,

Any thoughts about alan wilson's sound? I really like his sound, especially on "on the road again", "boogie chillen n.2", "help me" and his "pulling hair blues". don't even have the right vocabulary to describe it but I would sure like to know what did he use and how did he manage to produce that cool (imo) sound.

Thanks

For one thing, he would

For one thing, he would sometimes use a harp with the 6 draw note tuned up one half step (from F# to G on an A harp, for example).

If you do an internet search for "alan wilson harmonica lesson" you will find a site where you can listen to/download a 40-minute lesson from Wilson himself, recorded in 1964.
