I'm looking for a crystal mic. My shure CM element dont work for me anymore.

How sensitive are they really?

Can i have it shipped or the cold outside, the drops from mailman and the cold ride in plane will ruined the microphone?

How long can i expect it to last me, a few good years?

Thank you

Hello Mac, Two different

Hello Mac,
Two different descriptive words in play here regarding Crystal elements:
FRAGILE they are indeed, likely the least durable and dependable of the elements commonly applied to harp usage. They're subject to damage from impact (dropping), heat (trunk of a car), moisture (anything wet, including beer breath), and foul language (press #3 for English). When shipping Crystals, up your odds for their survival by enclosing them in a zip-loc baggie and padding them with bubble wrap.
SENSITIVE they are, to a degree. Altho not as accurate in reproducing sound as condensers or dynamic elements, they do have the touchiness of an over-caffeinated fashion reporter and the capability of putting out a lotta signal under the right circumstances.
