How do you structure you practise time for the best results? Sometimes I think I have the habit of trying to squeeze to much into a session.

So how much do you allocate to study songs, reviewing material learnt, improvising, solo work accompaniment and jamming?

I usually will spend around

I usually will spend around 45 min on a study song, 30 min-1 hr doing chorus forms/jamming ,then usually go over songs already learnt I try to do that once a week. When I was trying to dail in my bends I would just do bending for 1hr . I pretty much try to follow David's and Joe Filiskos approach to practice. Everything started to come together a lot quicker by following there recommendations. Joes approach is in the contributor vids and I think if you do a forum search David's post on practice will pop up.

Thanks Brian,

I spilt my study as follows

Jamming 1st 2nd 3rd with focus on either accompaniment or improvisation (insrumental work with chorus forms)

Review of study songs and other repertoire

Solo work- with a focus on either slow blues, rhumba or shuffle

Theory written writing out scales circle of 5th etc and practising movement exercises

I usually focus on one are more than others in each session
And weekends are saved for critique of my material and transcription of artists work

Depends...

I think it really depends on how much time you have to practice. Usually I practice 1/3 current song, 1/3 technique, and 1/3 soloing using chorus forms. The more time you have to practice the better you'll get. However consistent effort is the key. Everyday for 30 minutes is better than 1 or 2 days a week for a couple of hours.
