Hello Ivan, good to hear from

Hello Ivan, good to hear from you. Sorry about your case of the metalic taste.

I too had a similar experience and coated my comb with polyurethane. It was a failed experiment. Some people are just ultra sensitive to the effects of combining dissimiliar metals--in this case, I believe you have chrome over brass reed plates mounted on an aluminum comb, with stainless steel cover plates.

My recommendation is to swap out your aluminum with a "non-metallic" comb (e.g. acrylic, corian, wood). Start your search here: https://rockinronsmusicsd.com/suzuki-promaster-covers-a-just-fabulous-reed-plates-az-caramel-brown-custom-comb-screws.html

hi  i used 'bombril' (a steel

hi

i used 'bombril' (a steel wool, wire wool, brillo pad) to brush the harmonica

i tooked out the covers and brushed the comb and reedplates togheter (didnt desaembled these)

this way the reedplates started to shine (i think there was some corrosion on in, just where the mouth touchs it) and the bad taste got better and i can play XD

but i just dont feel like confident....thera are a small smell of metal/corrosion...i dont know

i really love how a full metal harmonica looks...but i think my next harmonica will have wood or plastic comb hahaha

dont know if all metal comb harmonicas has this problens, if it is just promaster or maybe is only this one that i bought...

now the harmonica do not taste bad or leave a bas taste on mouth....but still seens wierd, i dont know how to explain, but it is diferent than my olive

my mouth stays wierd after

my mouth stays wierd after playing it...

thera are no bad taste, but a sensation of 'some thing is wrong' or diferent than before playing

it does not happens when playing the olive

maybe i will rietire the promaster and buy a new model, probably olive or manji (here in niteroi, rio de janeiro, suzukis are way cheaper than hohner, and seydel are almost impossible to got)m when i need an A harmonica again for the lessons

if you wanna know anything else, just say it!

thanks for the attention!

Hi Ivaan, if you do not

Hi Ivaan, if you do not require the 1/2 valving (available with the Promaster) I believe you will be very happy with the Olive or Manji. Both have identical comb materials and reed plates. The only variance will be the vented reed plates of the Manji; therefore, you will hear a more acoustic voicing.

Sorry Ivaan. I meant to

Sorry Ivaan. I meant to write, "vented Cover Plates"

Think Hohner Marine Band with vented cover plates compared to the Hohner Special 20, with non vented cover plates. Vented cover plates will produce an acoustic (brighter, treble overtones) voicing. The non-vented cover plates will produce a muted (fatter, more bass overtones) voicing.
